So, again, sport movies are few and good sport movies are even fewer. That leads to those being the obvious ones. Well, this week's selection is an obvious one. But first, on a lighter note, since this week's subject is football! Let's let Andy Griffith describe this wonderful game for us. 'What It Was, Was Football' (1953). (Previously mentioned week 41) And, to continue the comedy portion of this blog, I just watched Paper Lion (1968) again recently. How many of you have even heard of it?
Other football films I considered, all being true stories; Greater (2016), Go Razorbacks! My All American (2015), Hook'm Horns! We Are Marshall (2006), a great comeback story. For this week I will recommend Remember the Titans (2000). Not quite a true story. I'll just say 'writer and director's privilege'. It's a good popcorn eatin' film...
