My next selection in 2005 was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry. Must be good. Based on the 1933 novel of the same name, Imitation of Life (1934) is the recommended film for this week. Not the 1959 remake. That version left out a very significant detail of the story. Thus, changing the meaning of the movie. Big mistake. It stars Louise Beavers (1) as Delilah 'the lost housekeeper' and Claudette Colbert (2) as 'the widower Bea'. Pancakes anyone?
