This week's recommendation is considered a western. Is it? The problem? Lack of horses. The backdrop is rural Texas, the pan handle, around '19' 60. Lots n lots of cattle, but not to many horses. One of the cars is a convertible, though. It's adapted from the 1961 novel Horseman, Pass By written by Larry McNurty. Movies based on his writings have only won 13 Oscars. It also has a stellar cast. Paul Newman (1) is the older brother. Brandon de Wilde (2) plays the younger brother. And Melvyn Douglas (3) was cast as their dad. Also staring Patricia Neal (4), Hud (1963) is the selection for this week. It's one of those must see films.
