WWII veterans claim the next weekly selection as the most accurate portrayal of their heavy bomber combat experiences. Many of the characters and events in the film were based on the real pilots, their crews and their missions. Including the October 1943 attack on Schweinfurt. Winner of two Oscars and preserved in the National Film Registry, Twelve O'Clock High (1949) is the recommendation for the week. Gregory Peck is in this one as General Savage. If you're interested in making it a USArmy's Eighth Air Force double feature, then watch Clark Gable in Command Decision, 1948.
