The One 69th...

A multiple Academy Award nominee, Oscar winner for Best Picture (as Director) and Best Director both twice. Yet, most people only know Clint Eastwood as either a gun wielding western hero or Harry Callahan, still wielding a gun. He has directed five other actors to Oscar wins. So, why when asked who the better directors are in film is he not mentioned? He is a legend on both sides of the camera, with less than a handful of peers. Who else has his pedigree? Charlie Chaplin? Seriously, consider some of his iconic movies...

Directed; American Sniper (2014), A Perfect World (1993), Mystic River (2003), The Jersey Boys (2014) with 40 other credits...

Acted and Directed; Million Dollar Baby (2004, week 11), The Bridges of Madison County (1995), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), The Mule (2018, week 111)...

High Plains Drifter (1973, week 70) is a film he directed with a virtually unknown cast. Yet, the acting is great. 35 years latter he accomplished the same thing with Gran Torino (2008). And Gran Torino will be the recommendation for this week. I'm not thinking it's real smart to steal your neighbors car. He even gave his kids a little role or two...

Unforgiven (week 101) won Oscar's for Best Picture and Director...
