'I See You!'
The next weekly recommendation is another one of those oblivious ones. And one of my favorites. It's a part of the sci-fi cinema evolution. One the earlier evolution was stop motion animation. King Kong (Week 78) is an excellent example, CGI still can't touch it. TRON (Week 176) is one the first to use computer generated imagery. Motion capture is the next evolution. It's basically scanning people in funny suits as the perform on a stage. This is used to generate a 3D universe inside a computer. This weeks selection Avatar (2009) was literally filmed from a 3D universe generated inside a computer. Well, some of it anyway. The story is old and seen in hundreds of movies, but not quit like this. Please, watch on a very large screen and in vary high definition. It is a visual joy.
