This is one of Sean Penn's better performances. A sort'f forgotten mob film. State of Grace (1990) is this week's selection. Another story about the city of New York. It's an Irish mob movie inspired by the Westies gang in Hell's Kitchen. The cast for this film is way above average; Gary Oldman, Ed Harris and Robin Wright are all siblings. Also staring John Turturro (1), John Reilly and Burgess Meredith. I consider it a neo noir classic with a sad ending. It's only fault, It became a bit over shadowed by the release of Goodfellas a week after it's release...
