The next recommendation will be The Devil's Brigade from 1968. It's a classic mismatch of military services. The prideful Canadian military and the,?. Not quite sure what you would call this band if US service misfits. Even the commander of this newly formed unit, played by William Holden (1), has no combat experience. And they are supposed to be elite? Vince Edwards (2) is in charge of the US servicemen and Cliff Robertson (3) has the same position with the Canadians. This film has a slew of top actors, or soon to be top actors. Maybe that's why it's so good? Did I mention this movie is non-fiction? The film is based on the 1966 book of the same name co-written by Col. George Walton, an actual former member of the '1st Special Service Force' organized in 1942. Otherwise known as The Devil's Brigade.
