This week's recommendation is another novel adapted for the big screen. It was originally done in 1958, but, that was not a very good version. The Quiet American (2002) is a much better telling of the story and the recommended film for the week. It's about the French colonial break down and the U.S.'s early involvement in Vietnam in the mid '50s. It also includes a love triangle between Michael Caine (1), Brendan Fraser (2) and Thi Hai Yen Do. What? Don't remember her? Who is he really?
