Palmer, Harry Palmer. Not quite the same ring as Bond, James Bond. Well, he is a British silver screen fictional spy too. The novel The Ipcress File (1962) was written in contrast to the 007 franchise. The music score is even Bond'esque. And it's a comedy. Well? It's British humor anyway. In 1965 it was turned into a movie staring Michael Caine as the British spy. Um, maybe not a spy. It was so successful it spawned two more sequels, worth watching. So, if you're interested in a trilogy, they would be Funeral in Berlin (1966) and Billion Dollar Brain (1967). Thirty years later they did two more, not worth watching. Well? I'll leave that viewing choice up to you...
