Not sure how to classify this next recommendation. Is it a Western, Film-Noir or just your basic cop versus bad guy drama? We have the good copper/private eye or, in this case, a sheriff. And we have the mob boss/gang leader or, in this case, an entrepreneur of illegal activities. And then there's the female that falls in between them. I guess we can call it a Neo-Noir western suspense thriller. A modern shot'm up western. Nick Nolte (1) plays the lead in this weeks selection Extreme Prejudice (1987). It was directed by Walter Hill (1). Other films directed by him I've seen and liked are;
Streets of Fire (1984), A Rock-n-Roll fable.
Crossroads (1986), Another music fantasy film.
and
The Long Riders (1980).
