Sekretnyy Fayl Dvesti Devyanosto Sem'

Wow! I think that amply describes the next recommendation. And that one word is more words than are said thru this entire movie. And, it's a talkie. I guess it's a talkie? It's not from the silent film era. The Film in question and this week's selection is The Thief (1952). A very well done cold war espionage thriller. It was nominated for an Oscar and five Globes. The 'lush' is portrayed by Rita Gam, her first movie appearance. There's a scene where she blows smoke thru his door. Wonder what she is offering? It's an awesome scene. The he being Ray Milland (1), the Nuclear physicist, slightly compromised. Again, a film without a spoken word. And I don't understand the purpose of names, but there's a character known as Mr. Bleek...

(1) The Big Clock, week 191...
