This week's selection is based on the 1974 novel of the same name. But, it's not the 2011 movie of the same name. Not a good watch. Staring Alec Guinness as George Smiley, a retired British spy brought back into the world of espionage to solve a rather severe problem. It's a seven episode, about 50 minutes each, TV mini series called Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy from 1979. That would be the first part. Yes, first part. It's a lot of viewing for the week. The second part, also adapted from a novel of the same name. Published in 1979 by the same author, John le Carre (1). Again staring Alec Guinness as George Smiley. Again, called out of retirement, but this time because someone died, or killed. And a spy master battle with an old nemesis begins. This one is 6 episodes at about an hour each. Smiley's People (1982) is the second part of this week's recommendation. If you're a spy movie nut, you're in heaven...
