Sorry, Not a Movie Blog

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

A music Blog this Week, get over it. The next recommendation is more about the music anyway. I found myself stopping the films and digging out the songs to listen to them. The first actual film selection is Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982). Written based on the album The Wall by Pink Floyd, go figure. One of my favorite tunes Comfortably Numb (A) is from this album. He's talking to a syringe, sorta...

And then there's CBGB (2013). Country, Blue Grass and Blues. You knew that right? I had heard about the place all those years ago. And the bands that played there; The Police, Ramones, Debra Harry (Blondie), Patti Smith to name just a few. Talking Heads (B) also being one of many. Joan Jett of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts fame also played there. She also stars in the film Light of Day (1987) with Micheal J. Fox. If you can find it...

Now a 'It's a Small World' story; My ex-wife, a former cabin attendant for a German airline, was on an Asian trip and had a day off in Tokyo. While wondering around the area around the hotel she came across someone she recognized. This is how she said she introduced herself, 'Hi, I recognize you from one of my boyfriends album covers.' She said she spent the rest of the afternoon chit chatting with, Joan Jett...

That leads to the movie The Runaways (2010) about the band The Runaways (C), which Joan was a founding member...

Two more movies I couldn't watch all the way thru without pulling out the tunes were Rocketman (2019) about Elton John (D). And the Freddy Mercury of Queen (E) biography, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)...

This week's recommendations are about the listening more than the watching...

(A) Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, from the movie...

(D) Candle in the Wind (Goodbye England's Rose)...

Light of Day (1987) song video

That's only a tiny bit of the music...

Yes, I'm a Joan Jett fan...
