To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) is loosely based on the life experiences as a kid of the author of the novel of the same name. The author, Harper Lee, grew up in small town Alabama in the '30s. The movie won 3 Oscar's including one for Gregory Peck (1). It was only nominated for eight. He portrays an attorney trying to balanced work life and home life.
