Very nice suspenseful private detective tale. Another story about New York City. It seems the hero in this one doesn't fight very well. Or just doesn't fight. (Spoiler, he gets beat up.) An intellectual action thriller. I think it pays a great homage to the Private Eye tales from the film-noir era. Screenplay written by Scott Frank (1) and based on the novel of the same name published in 1992 by Lawrence Block. Wait, he has written 17 novels about this Matthew Scudder character. Where is the sequel? Liam Neeson (2) plays the P.I. Matt and someone called 'Astro' plays his sidekick. This week's selection, A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014)...
